Study and development of strategic plans, policies and methodology of
standardization for electronics and Information technology
According to the development priorities, hot spot of market and
highlighted standardizing issues, CESI carries out a series of studies
of the developing strategy, the policy making and feasibility. As a
government supporting body, CESI provides advice to government on the
policy making and the industry management.
Establishment and improvement of standardization system for electronics
and IT
CESI assists the government to set up management system, working
system and technical system of standardization in the field of
electronics and IT, in line with domestic industry development and
construction to satisfy the interests of all related stakeholders.
Promotion of international standardization activities and management of
domestic technical mirrors.
CESI undertakes 36 domestic technical mirrors of IEC TC/SCs
and 18 domestic technical mirrors of ISO/IEC JTC1/SCs. And it has
established the strategic partnership with many international and
regional standardization bodies. While organizing and managing the
domestic enterprises to participate in international standardization
activities, CESI has been setting up a domestic working mechanism for
international standardization activity, which greatly facilitates
cooperation and increases China¨s position and influence on the
international level.
Developing and verifying the basic and general standards, in the field
of electronics and IT
CESI takes a leading role in the development
and maintenance of the general standards, such as terminology, naming
methods, classification statistics, quality assurance, and design
management. CESI also dedicates itself to researching and developing
standards for electronic components and materials, digital products and
equipments, IT, safety and EMC, hazardous substances control, and energy
conservation and environmental protection. CESI undertakes 11
secretariats of national standard technical committee. Until 2008, CESI
has organized to develop and publish about 2800 national standards and
5900 industrial standards, which provides basic guidance and support for
the development of domestic electronic and IT industry.
Responsible for technical review of national and industrial standards
Authorized by the government, CESI is responsible for technical review
of standards. It¨s an
essential
standardization process, which provides technical guidance and
coordination in each standards developing stage such as proposal stage,
drafting stage, inquiry stage and public review stage, and registers all
the relevant documents.
